Dogs, cats and other friends… is at once both an informative document and a humorous review of the relationship that we have not only with our pets but also with our personal environment. The use of an 8x10 sliding-back allowed me to make two 5x8 images on the same negative. By recomposing the image after each shot was made, I was able to create a full scene that either overlapped or left space between segments in the center of the frame. This manifests itself with the disappearance or the repetition of objects at the edges of the center between the two compositions.
